This lot comes from Baba Budangiri, the hills where Indian coffee began. A Sufi named Baba Budan smuggled seven seeds out of Yemen some 350 years ago and planted them here. Today those same hills are home to thousands of farms. From little three-acre plots through to big estates. This coffee is all grown under shade trees that let the fruit ripen slow and sweet. It contains Kent, Catimor & S.795 varietals.
It's a proper crowd-pleaser. Nutty and rich cocoa with a honeyed sweetness and a soft, biscuity finish. Low in acidity and seriously moreish. Black, it's smooth and sweet
